IN THE DISTRICT

Washtington D.C.!! We woke up early and went to the “Newseum” and I seriously could have stayed there all day. History is my favorite subjet, and this was like an in-depth look U.S. history and world history as it was potrayed through both broadcast and written journalism. There are things I have always heard about but was either not alive or too young to recall, so it was so fascinating to see all these old news clips and newspapers. Also they had some incredible videos and a whole floor dedicated to the 9/11 attacks wish made almost everyone cry. Some things were upsetting, but it is so important that we don’t forget the past. Speaking of that, everyone headed to the Holocaust museum after that, but Coach Davis and I headed to Arlington Cemetary to find a story.

I was more than happy to go, it was something I really wanted to see. Being there you can’t help but feel proud and patriotic. My generation doesn’t seem to respect what it is to be American, I think we all need a little reminding and that’s exactly what I got- especially witnessing a full military service funeral. Check out the website in a couple days for my story and you’ll see some footage from it. It was very moving.

I really enjoyed D.C and I caaaaan’t wait to come back. I will be back.

Tomorow we head for beach town!
